Niagara Cycling Tours FAQs

What time of year does Niagara Cycling Tours begin?

Niagara Cycling Tours officially begins April 1st.

What time of year does Niagara Cycling Tours end?

We will offer tours as long as Mother Nature will allow (dry roads and not completely freezing temperatures) and as long as cyclists are interested in riding.

Is there a minimum/maximum number of riders for each tour?

There is no minimum, however, to ensure safety and a quality experience, we cap our tours at 8 cyclists.

What is the minimum age requirement?

Cyclists must be 18 years of age or older.

What days of the week do your tours run?

We are available pretty much every day, including holidays. See the next question for more specifics.

What time of the day do you tours begin?

These are all based on availability.

During April, May and June we ride Saturdays and Sundays (all day) as well as late afternoons during the week.

For July and August, we ride every day from sunrise to sunset.

September and October resembles the April, May and June riding pattern.

As for a specific time of day, we like to work around your busy touristic schedules. Contact us and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Do your cycling tours stop at the wineries?

Niagara Cycling Tours does not stop at the wineries. We do pass them on our tours but like to focus on the epic roads and scenic views that the Niagara Region has to offer. We are, however, in the process of obtaining vouchers for wine sampling from the wineries we pass for you to enjoy on your own time.

Do your tours have the same starting and end point?

Yes. We begin in a parking lot that is easily accessible from the highway. Details will be provided once the tour is book.

Is there a shower and a change room?

There is no shower or change room, unfortunately. There is a bathroom. Please come prepared to ride.

Is transportation to the starting point included?

No it is not. You are responsible for getting to the point of origin on your own.

Are bikes included?

Bikes are not included but we do have a few bikes for rent. Cost is $25 dollars per tour. Please contact us for more information.

Is there a support vehicle on the ride?

Unfortunately, due to our small size, a support vehicle will not be on the ride but is available for emergency pick ups (see next question). Basic bike maintenance will be offered from your tour leader. Please make sure your road bike is in good working order. Please ensure you have small tools and spare tubes as well.

What happens if a malfunction to the bike occurs and I can no longer ride?

We hope this doesn't occur but if it does, there is always an "on call" vehicle that will pick you up and bring you back to the point of origin. There is no cost to the rider. If the rider does not complete at least 50% of the ride, half a refund will be issued.

Are snacks and water provided?

No they are not. Please come prepared.

Will the cycling tours stop for a break?

Niagara Cycling Tours will make prearranged stops on the 70 km and 100 km rides.

Is lunch included?

No, lunch is not. It is to be covered at the riders expense.

Do you do corporate or company team building rides?

We can surely cater to your needs. If need be, we can create a more engaging, leisurely ride for your group.

You offer a GoPro video of our experience? Is it free?
